My Reading Journey in 2025
I have an extensive library.
When I say extensive, I mean all the walls of my office are full of books. I went to school far too long, spent too much time in bookstores, and never met a library sale I didn’t like. I have a lot of books. I feel like I have read them all, but I know that is not true. Some have been gifts that I haven’t read.
It is time to read them.
I thought it would be fun for me to make sure I have read all the books on my shelves. I feel like the local minister should be well-read on many subjects and specifically an expert on all things Church-related. I probably have 500 books in my office.
I am going to see if the books I have collected over the years are of benefit to me and then by extension of benefit to you! I figure I have collected these books in a number of ways:
- Purchase
- Gift
- Inherited
- Free
- School
In 2025, starting by author with ‘A,’ I will begin to read thru my collected library and we’ll see how far I get in a year. I have been on an audio book kick lately so this will be a nice change of pace. I will skip the Bible commentaries and other reference works and just focus on the books on the shelves I have from A-Z. Perhaps I will have one you’d like to read!
My plan is to:
- Read.
- Reflect.
- Write a post highlighting the book.
- Move on to the next book on the shelf.
We’ll see how far I get!
